Born and educated through high school in Fairbanks, Alaska, John McIntyre holds music degrees from Western Washington University, the University of Miami, and the University of Southern California. He currently serves as Professor of Music at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana. He previously taught at Texas Christian University and at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. Dr. McIntyre is also on the faculty of the Rensselaer Program of Church Music and Liturgy at Saint Joseph’s College (Indiana). Dr. McIntyre’s compositions and arrangements have been performed in churches and concert halls in North and South America and Europe, and recorded by the Isthmus Vocal Ensemble, Nicolas3, the Emerald City Brass Quintet and Musickes Pleasure. He has received awards from ASCAP and the Choral Conductors Guild. His publishers include Concordia, GIA, Augsburg Fortress, Southern Music and G. Schirmer.
